Sana Naqvi
State Legislative Affairs Manager
Sana Naqvi is a State Legislative Affairs Manager at FAMM. In this role, she supports legislative strategies to reduce incarceration, improve prison systems, and promote humane, evidence-based sentencing reform.
Before joining FAMM, Sana worked as a criminal defense attorney in Chicago, handling cases that ranged from misdemeanors to serious felonies. She also served as a Special Projects Attorney at the MacArthur Justice Center’s National Parole Transformation Project, where she conducted nationwide assessments of parole due process practices and collaborated with system-impacted people and community organizations to coordinate the initial stages of strategic impact litigation to challenge parole revocation systems. Prior to that, Sana was an Assistant Public Defender in Palm Beach County, Florida, providing holistic trial advocacy across juvenile, county, and felony cases. She also has federal defense experience through clinical work and internships with capital and federal defender offices
